Do you want to save money and assemble your own short block? LME now offers a kit for you to build your own short block with proven parts that we use every day. Our kit comes with a NEW LSX GM block that is machined to size. Our product comes final cleaned with all the parts you need to get your short block together. Our kits come in 1400HP or 2000HP.

These kits come with our LME custom forged Diamond 2K Piston.

What's so special you might ask?

A: These pistons are 2000+ HP custom forged pistons with internal milling, lateral gas ports, double din oilers, valve pocket depth, top ring & second ring lands optimized for maximum durability in FI application with anti-friction coating on skirts

LME's Standard Machining & Blueprinting Process:

  • Block is fully deburred & inspected for flaws
  • Cylinders diamond honed with torque plates for optimal clearance per application
  • Crankshaft journals indexed & trued to exact tolerance
  • Optimal cylinder geometry achieved with diamond hone and surface finish verified with a profilometer
  • Chamfered oil holes for improved oiling to bearings
  • Cylinders machined for rod clearance per application
  • Crankshaft journals polished to 2 Ra or better surface finish
  • Block and components meticulously deburred & cleaned after the machining process
  • Crankshaft balanced within ¼ oz-in tolerance

 

  • Connecting rod housing bores checked & adjusted for optimal roundness & size

 

  • Piston pin bores measured & adjusted for application
  • Deck surfaces machined perpendicular to mains & deck height set for optimal quench
  • Block aline honed and set to low of spec for maximum bearing crush
  • Cylinders bored (when applicable) on 4 axis CNC perpendicular to mains giving you a true 90o  V8
